Emily Eagle’06, Fall 2023 Executive in Residence, returns to the Beloit College campus this week for a series of class visits and workshops with students, faculty, and staff.

The workshops on facilitation methods will help those who have wondered how group decisions could happen more collaboratively and even how standard meetings could run better. These workshops require an RSVP to attend:

Emily will also hold a session for students interested in exploring how to apply their liberal arts writing skills to a future career.

Giving Day Theme: Res Hall Rehab

Please join us March 6 for Giving Day ’24: Res Hall Rehab. The money raised will go toward renovating Whitney Hall as part of our strategy to raise the standards of all the residence halls. 2024-25 Community Fellows and Concierge Internship programs

Impact Beloit is seeking high-achieving students who will be a junior, senior, or returning for a 9th/10th free semester with demonstrated reliability and an interest in working in a wide range of mission-driven community organizations and Beloit area businesses for the 2024-25 academic year.

You will gain invaluable work experience as a Fellow (leading project-based work, research, and programming tasks while contributing to the Beloit community) or as an Intern (working in roles ranging from marketing, finance, accounting, computer programming, engineering and more). Build skills and connections, and make an impact!

Requirements and benefits:

  • Fellows commit to working eight hours per week; Interns, 10 hours per week, both for the full 2024-25 academic year.
  • You will receive 2.0 units of credit, one for each semester
  • Fellows receive a $2,500 stipend; Internships may be paid or unpaid
  • Fellows have a faculty/staff mentor; Interns have an alumni mentor
  • Regular professional development and reflection to enable success

Sports Recap

Three Beloit basketball players were honored by the Midwest Conference. From the men’s team, Azeez Ganiyu’24 was awarded First Team All Midwest Conference, becoming the first from Beloit since the 2015-16 season. The women’s senior backcourt of Hannah Welte’24 and Elizabeth Kalk’24 were given Second Team All-Conference recognition.

Beloit College softball started their season off with a win, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Superior in their season opener, 4-3. The team dropped their second game to Loras College 9-1.

Beloit baseball kicked off their season with a split in a two-game series against the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Bucs dropped their first game 5-1, before mounting a nine-run comeback and extra inning win in the second game, 15-12.

Men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse teams each faced off against Cornell College over the weekend. The men’s team played the Rams on the road, losing a close game, 9-7. The women’s team took on the Rams at home, losing 15-6.
